Heavy alkylate (HAB) is a by-product of the linear alkyl benzene production process and is a combination of diphenyl alkanes and dialkyl benzenes. Due to its dielectric properties and high oxidation stability as well as low pour point, this compound has wide applications in the industries of transformer oils, industrial lubricants, diesel fuel additives and hot oils for heat transfer and is also used in industrial detergents.
