C9 ist eine komplexe Verbindung von Kohlenwasserstoffen, die durch Destillation von Restölen aus thermischem Versagen mit Öldampf oder Erdgas gewonnen wird. Es enthält Kohlenwasserstoffe, deren Kohlenstoffgehalt hauptsächlich im Bereich von C9 bis C10 liegt und siedet im Bereich von 150°C bis 210°C (302°F bis 410°F).
